Unit Specifics

Number of Beds: 34 in 630, 25 in 633

Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days; 1:5 to 1:6 on nights

Tech availability: 3 techs when full on 630; 2 techs when full on 633

Equipment: bipap, high flow O₂, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs with wound care

Documentation system: Meditech

Scheduling: 3 12‑hour shifts a week, every other weekend requirement for contract

Floating: may float between PCU units or to med‑surg floors

Patient Experience: hourly rounding on days, every 2 hours at night, AIDET, communication boards on 7th floor; Dept 633 has TV boards

Hiring Profile / Skill Set

Must have:

Critical thinking, EKG rhythm interpretation, experience with cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred; peripheral IV skills.

Advanced skills needed:

ACLS, experience with bipap, high flow O₂, multiple oxygen delivery systems, stroke and post‑cardiac catheter care; peritoneal dialysis preferred; tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tubes.

Wound vac trouble‑shooting

BLS
