We are seeking a
Production Maintenance Supervisor
to lead a team of 15–20 skilled technicians in a high-volume, technology-driven production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring peak machine efficiency and minimal downtime for critical insertion and bindery equipment. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between technical execution and departmental leadership, overseeing the daily workflow, preventive maintenance schedules, and the professional development of the maintenance team. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Manage a direct report team of 15–20 technicians; provide active coaching, motivation, and performance evaluations to maintain a high standard of technical excellence. Operational Efficiency:
Monitor daily throughput and equipment downtime reports; identify bottlenecks and implement mechanical solutions to maintain a constant production flow. Maintenance Oversight:
Direct all preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure compliance with deadlines; keep the team informed on new technologies and equipment upgrades. Budget & Inventory:
Manage the parts inventory for all production equipment, including vendor sourcing and cost analysis; maintain accountability for labor costs and "Cost Per Unit" targets. Management Support:
Serve as the acting Department Manager in their absence and provide daily strategic updates to senior leadership regarding shift capacity and equipment health. Candidate Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in the operation and repair of production equipment, specifically insertion and bindery machinery. Leadership : Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing or production environment. Technical Proficiency:
Strong background in electronic and electrical circuits. Experience with reporting tools (Jet/IQ) is a significant advantage. Education:
Associate’s Degree or Technical/Trade School certification is preferred. Software:
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Schedule Flexibility:
Standard hours are
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM , with the requirement to work until 5:00 PM or perform weekend/holiday work based on production volume. Note:
This role is 100% on-site in the Long Island area. Relocation assistance is not available.
