Special Education Therapeutic Learning Program Teacher Teach and case manage a small classroom of students requiring direct, appropriate individualized and small group instruction, based on IEP goals and objectives, within a highly supported setting. The teacher participates in the supervision of paraprofessional staff, and service providers in a team oriented educational setting. There is a strong focus on self-management skill development to prepare students for inclusion success. Responsibilities include:

Planning and implementing curriculum aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Planning and implementation of social emotional learning curriculum. Plans and directs paraprofessional staff assigned to the classroom or to specific students under the teacher’s scope of direct or indirect supervision. Completing Educational Assessments, collaborative FBAs, etc. Engage in liaison duties for a caseload of students to ensure full implementation of student IEPs, monitor student progress, support student programming, and alert the Team of any need to convene a Team meeting. Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs, Progress Reports and student program books. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedures, and maintain order in the classroom through implementation of positive behavioral supports, as well as implementation of individual student behavior intervention plans. Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Perform other duties and responsibilities consistent with this role/position as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services, Special Education Coordinator or Principal. Degree Preferred

Masters Experience Preferred
