Job Description The Radiologic Technologist I position works independently to complete a variety of routine, diagnostic radiology procedures including common and special fluoroscopic exams of routine to moderate complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, delivers exceptional patient care, and adheres to diagnostic radiology exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. It is a member of the direct patient care team.
Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science
Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Required
American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
Texas Medical Board certification (MRT)
American Heart Association BLS
Essential Job Functions
Promotes a positive work environment.
Collaborates with all members of the patient care team.
Uses peer-to-peer accountability toward department goals for retention and employee engagement.
Proactive in responding to patient needs.
Optimizes protocols to provide better patient care, image quality, and patient experience. Includes positioning, collimation, physiology, procedure preparation, technical factors, and appropriate use of lead markers.
Assists physicians during diagnostic or fluoroscopic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures including common, special, and fluoroscopy diagnostic exams of moderate complexity.
Practices radiation safety and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly.
Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures.
Complies with job role, department, and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies.
Participates in WASTE walks and supports department LEAN projects.
Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into the appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system.
Performs imaging equipment quality control (QC) at required intervals to ensure equipment is in safe working order prior to use.
Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (e.g., medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance as appropriate.
Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.
Participates in department projects or shared governance activities.
Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a technologist.
Work Schedule Up to 19.99 hours per week with no benefits, variable schedule for coverage.
