This role supports the Metrolink service at our Lancaster, CA crew base. The position is on‑site with flexibility to cover other crew bases in the greater Los Angeles area. Successful candidates will be based in the Lancaster/Palmdale or Santa Clarita area, and relocation may be offered.

Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive locomotive operations and supervisory expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work with dedicated teammates, provide crucial leadership, and ensure safe, efficient locomotive and train operations. Day‑to‑day, you’ll collaborate across Project & Bid Management, Safety, Training and Compliance, mentor locomotive engineers and conductors, and more.

Responsibilities

Monitor employees for compliance with regulations and operating practices.

Initiate action for non‑compliance in a consistent and fair manner.

Manage employees and train operations to optimize On‑Time Performance (OTP) and recommend performance improvements.

Respond to service disruptions within your area of responsibility.

Enforce safety plans and maintain a thorough understanding of operating, PTC, and safety rules.

Provide comprehensive written and oral reports.

All about you

Degree in Transportation, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience or understanding of supervisory roles within an FRA‑regulated railroad environment.

Knowledge of FRA Regulations on Operating rules GCOR, Timetable and Special Instructions.

Familiarity with the physical layout and operation of the Authority’s rail system.

Pay Range: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 depending on experience/qualifications.

This position is eligible for Railroad Retirement.
