The Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical leads mechanical engineering support of plant issues that are impacting production over a short period of time. Acts as the technical expert responsible for resolving equipment based or repair technique-based issues, which impact the availability and maintainability of the facility. Serves as subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations. Provides input to MIQA process. Performs regular field assessments of equipment.

Responsibilities

Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.

Delivers maintenance input into project activities and acts as maintenance representative for capital projects.

Apply engineering theory and practice to perform physical failure analysis, determine root cause of equipment failures and conduct equipment performance evaluations.

Develops turnaround scopes and supports turnaround activities.

Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to develop work scopes and drive solutions.

Delivers input to the Reliability Top Opportunity List.

Provides input to Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance (MIQA) process.

Performs regular field assessments of equipment.

Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review.

Drives Management of Change (MOC) work process for equipment in their area.

Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for E&I equipment failures that impact safety or production.

Requirements

B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university REQUIRED

Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.

2 - 5 years of manufacturing or related experience required

Process Safety Management experience preferred

Skilled in creating/reviewing technical procedures (Standard Practice, Standard Operating Procedures)

Ability to work with others involved in a variety of functions including operators, maintenance technicians, engineers of various disciplines, management, and other leaders.

SAP working knowledge for Bill of Materials improvement
