Summary
This position will implement, maintain, recondition, repair, troubleshoot, adjust, construct, and/or upgrade various types of electrical & instrumentation equipment. In addition, the E&I Tech will maintain control and automation systems, PLC and HMI, electronic and pneumatic equipment, compressor stations, pump stations, plant operations and measurement facilities.
Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.
Some of the work you will do:
Install, calibrate and troubleshoot flow measurement devices, level measurement devices, pressure sensors, PH probes, TSS and turbidity meters, valves, vfd’s and other instruments
Ability to understand and operate a PLC and HMI controls. Ability to make minor modifications to PLC and HMI to customize process.
Setup networking devices and telemetry.
Inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions
Diagnoses and repair various electric pumps, drive units, reducers, pneumatic valves, solenoid valves associated with plant operation
Quickly repairs any malfunctions or operational problems related to electrical components or instrumentation
Understands the mechanical and scientific principles of each piece of equipment and a pro-active ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Understanding of and commitment to safety
Effectively works in a team environment leading and prioritizing daily tasks and operations
Effectively uses Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe and other basic office software to document operations
Excellent organization and housekeeping skills
Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment
Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) checks on all control systems
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence
Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself
Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed
Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
Occasionally fill in for operations if needed.
Here are the skills that you need:
Associates degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Automation and Robotics (EART) or a related field.
Ability to pass a drug, or other related, screenings as required by specific client locations.
Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:
Four or more years of practical experience in water treatment plant operations as electrical lead.
Working knowledge of industrial wastewater systems and operations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to use a workstation using computer/phone
Lifting will be involved (up to 50 lbs.)
When at job sites or fabrication shops, will be required to inspect equipment. This may involve:
Bending, stooping, walking on ladders, walkways/catwalks (may involve heights)
May involve being in a safety harness
Exposure to elements: cold, heat, wet, and/or dark
May involve utilizing hands and being around mechanical parts
May be required to be clean shaven and fit tested for proper respiratory equipment
