We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse for our Port St. Lucie location.

ROLE The Registered Nurse (RN) Level 2 in Behavioral Health is responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered collaborative care activities to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This role involves interacting with the patients, completing verbal interactions to provide education, support, care coordination, and therapeutic communication. This collaborative care service will support our patients to help them navigate treatment plans, manage medications, and/or provide education to better understand their illness, which will promote mental well-being, support optimal wellness and recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Assessment
Conduct brief assessments of patients’ mental and emotional health.
Review, gather and document current concerns through verbal interactions.
Therapeutic Communication
Utilize effective communication techniques to establish rapport and trust with patients.
Engage in active listening to understand patients’ needs and concerns.
Patient Education
Provide information and resources to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
Facilitate discussions about coping strategies and support systems.
Crisis Intervention
Recognize and respond to patients in crisis, employing de-escalation techniques.
Coordinate with psychiatric staff and emergency services when necessary.
Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and assessments.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Collaboration
Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in team meetings and case reviews to enhance patient care.
Professional Development
Stay current with best practices and advancements in behavioral health nursing.
Engage in continuing education and training opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current RN license in Florida.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Previous experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
