SUMMARY The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, implement and improve cost effective manufacturing processes to obtain maximum efficiencies and throughput.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, install, and maintain cost-effective methods of manufacturing and equitable labor standards using predetermined time standard method.

Prepare payback calculations to support plant project decisions and perform cost to produce analysis.

Assist in the budgeting process and measure variances to standards, identifying out of control variances, investigating reasons, and suggesting solutions.

Check crewing daily to determine optimal chain speed.

Work with plant industrial engineer to prepare daily, weekly, and HOG labor report.

Drive the use of processes throughout the business. Be a lead in process map training and drive the culture of continuous process improvement.

Explore new methods to improve safety, ergonomics, and labor cost.

Analyze biggest drivers of cost, and assist the plant management on implementing procedures around it

Selects appropriate techniques of work measurement and measures work contents of support labors. Installs standards, measures performance against standards.

Lead cost savings initiatives and track progress through the year

Work closely with the Industrial Engineer, Cost Manager, Controller, and plant management team

Educates plant personnel on work measurements and assists corporate with labor initiatives.

Work with corporate and other plant cost control managers to share and implement best practices across the regional plants.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Frequent communication with all plant departments

Organized and detail oriented

Manage priorities and dynamic deadlines

Efficient time management and ability to work under pressure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must demonstrate strong analytical and math skills

Intermediate ability in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel

Interpersonal and team skills for working with employees at all levels

First shift, flexible as required

Self-starter, team player

Good technical skills

Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in engineering or related field
