Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is hiring a
Certified Backflow Technician
to support backflow testing, repair, and installation services in Clermont, Florida. This role ensures compliance with Florida DEP regulations and local water utility Cross-Connection Control programs.
Responsibilities
Test and certify backflow prevention assemblies
Repair or replace failed devices
Install backflow assemblies per Florida Plumbing Code
Submit accurate test reports to water utilities and municipalities
Provide professional customer service in the field
Requirements
Active Florida Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification
Valid Florida driver’s license
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Preferred
Plumbing license or plumbing experience
Municipal, commercial, or industrial backflow experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
Ability to work in confined spaces (vaults, pits, mechanical rooms)
Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions, including heat and humidity
Ability to use hand tools and backflow testing equipment
Ability to wear required PPE (safety boots, gloves, eye and high‑visibility protection)
Visual and auditory ability sufficient to read gauges, complete documentation, and communicate safely
