This technician will process bacterial cultures, mammalian cell cultures, and perform molecular, serological, histopathology and in-situ hybridization assays for the Intracellular Pathogens Research Laboratory (IPRL). Computer skills are required for data entry, result reporting, data summaries, and responding.

Position Information Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

Process bacterial cultures and mammalian cell cultures; perform molecular, serological, histopathology and in-situ hybridization assays; conduct data entry, result reporting, data summaries, and responding.

Other Work:

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a molecular/histopathology/research laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Four year degree in Biology or equivalent related experience.

Benchtop laboratory skills, i.e. pipetting, culturing bacteria, microscope competence.

Prior experience or interest in human and veterinary medicine research are highly desirable.
