UPMC Cole Memorial Medical Group is currently hiring for a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient float pool team. This is a Monday through Friday, dayshift position with no weekend or holiday commitments! These are 8-hour shifts, as scheduled, between 7:00am and 6:30pm. The offices covered by this team are listed below, and UPMC offers competitive reimbursement rates for travel. Purpose Provides professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drips.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Assess the patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
