Job Description American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and a FL or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
Care for high acuity laboring mothers and newborns
Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1-2:1
Requires availability for 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week
On‑call required: 12 hours in a 6‑week scheduling period
Travelers are first to float and may be required to float to sister campuses within 15‑20 minutes
Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience is preferred
Scrub color requirement: Galaxy Blue and/or White
Must be comfortable managing high acuity patients in a fast‑paced environment
Orientation starts on a Friday with remote training and onsite badge/ID pickup required on the first day
Strict 50‑mile radius rule applies; candidates must not own or cosign property within 50 miles of the facility
All requested time off must be submitted prior to offer; no RTO requests accepted after submission
Team culture is supportive and travelers are expected to function as core staff
Flu and COVID vaccination status may be required per facility protocols
First-day documentation deadlines must be met
Requirements
Active FL or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course required
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring class and EFM certification preferred
Degree from an accredited nursing program or at least 5 years of nursing experience required
