The Senior Superintendent is responsible for managing day‑to‑day supervision of field construction activities, ensuring safety policies, directing crew and subcontractors, overseeing schedules, quality, and permitting, as well as maintaining project documentation and progress meetings.
Responsibilities
Ensure projects meet contractual and quality standards, code compliance.
Schedule and direct daily work to meet safety, price, schedule, quality, and process objectives.
Develop, procure, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Maintain daily paperwork (timecards, field reports, schedule updates, email correspondence).
Implement incremental project schedules to keep milestones on track.
Promote a culture that supports corporate principles.
Attend pre‑construction, progress, and other project/staff meetings.
Monitor staffing needs, evaluate performance, and address employee‑relation issues as needed.
Requirements
Strong leadership and ability to manage employees.
Experience in general contracting (concrete, steel erection, light‑gauge metal framing, interior & exterior finishes, advanced MEPF systems).
Knowledge of OSHA construction safety; OSHA 10‑hour certification within last 5 years.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Ability to discern quality workmanship relative to codes, standards, and contract documents.
Ability to produce, maintain, and direct the project schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
10 years’ experience as a project superintendent; 15 years total construction experience.
Experience in construction management.
Experience managing project budgets, developing and maintaining schedules, and building client relationships.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Willingness to relocate.
