Please independently verify any critical information before relying on it.**Description**Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician (RN) – Outpatient Oncology Pay: $55–$65 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Location: Onsite, League City, TX (77573) Setting: On-Campus Outpatient Clinic / Infusion Center Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician (RN) to deliver expert-level nursing care to adult oncology patients in outpatient clinic and infusion center settings. This role is ideal for a highly skilled oncology nurse who combines advanced clinical expertise with leadership, patient advocacy, and a holistic approach to care. The Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician plays a critical role across the cancer care continuum—supporting patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality, and compassionate outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive and complex patient assessments, including detailed health histories and symptom management planning Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions related to cancer diagnosis and treatment Coordinate care throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, including scheduling procedures and communicating with referring providers Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other complex IV medications in accordance with established safety protocols Monitor patients for adverse reactions and initiate appropriate clinical interventions Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management using teach-back methods Deliver emotional support and counseling to patients and caregivers throughout the cancer journey Advocate for patients and families while addressing clinical and ethical concerns Serve as a mentor and role model to RNs and clinical staff, supporting professional development and best practices Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice to enhance patient safety and outcomes Document nursing assessments, interventions, and education accurately in the electronic medical record Assist with telephone triage and support providers with procedures, including those requiring moderate sedation when applicable Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Minimum of five (5) years of clinical RN experience, including oncology nursing Active Texas RN license or valid temporary permit (permanent license required within 90 days) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Approved nursing specialty certification appropriate to oncology practice Oncology Nursing Certification or ability to obtain within one year Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Ambulatory or outpatient oncology experience Additional oncology-related certifications (e.g., chemotherapy administration, hazardous drug handling) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Completion of a moderate sedation course Bilingual skills Skills & Competencies Advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking Strong patient education and communication skills Ability to manage complex oncology cases independently Leadership mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Work Environment On-campus outpatient clinic and infusion center Combination of clinical care and focused patient education Exposure to standard healthcare occupational hazards, including hazardous medications and radiation Requires sustained concentration, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols Why This Opportunity Stands Out Competitive hourly pay with consistent weekday schedule Outpatient-focused role supporting work-life balance Opportunity to practice at an advanced clinical level in oncology Collaborative environment emphasizing professionalism, leadership, and quality care This role is well-suited for a seasoned oncology RN seeking a stable, high-impact position in outpatient cancer care while continuing to grow clinically and professionally.Senior Oncology Nurse Clinician (RN) – Outpatient OncologySenior Oncology Nurse Clinician (RN) – Outpatient Oncology
