The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change or not fill this vacancy based on staffing changes, enrollment, or budget. Position: Long‑Term Substitute Occupational Therapist Location: Harrington Elementary School Assignment Dates: 02/23/2026 – 06/18/2026 (Dates are subject to change) As a collaborative member of the Special Education team, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide direct service to students both in and out of the general education classroom and separate settings. The OT will consult with special education and general education teachers, administer evaluations/assessments, and help develop IEPs by writing goals, objectives, and accommodations. The specialist will maintain required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement and legal compliance, provide consultation to parents, teachers, and related staff, and participate in staff development activities. The candidate will apply the latest research in neurophysiology related to neurodevelopmental and sensorimotor dysfunction to school‑age populations. Responsibilities
Provide direct and consultative services using push‑in and pull‑out models. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and treatment plans addressing fine and visual motor and sensory integration needs. Support teachers in developing and implementing supports and providing fine and visual motor accommodations. Participate in IEP, 504, and student support team meetings. Work with multidisciplinary educational teams. Complete required paperwork and job functions timely and in compliance with special education regulations. Gather, collate, and classify data; generate reports and present findings at meetings. Utilize assistive technology. Attend district and school‑wide meetings, trainings, and professional development. Maintain compliance with existing laws and professional ethics. Other duties as requested by the Director of Student Services or School Principal. Qualifications
Registered Occupational Therapist in the state of Massachusetts. Minimum of a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Reports to:
