American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position requiring delivery attendance and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

Hospital-based Level III NICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2-3

Will attend deliveries and provide care for neonates

May float to the Normal Newborn Nursery (NOU) with a 1:4-6 ratio

Self-scheduling with every other weekend and holiday shifts required

Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45-07:15)

Expected to work at least one major and one minor holiday

Scrubs required in grape/purple color

Responsibilities include attending deliveries, admitting and discharging neonates, assisting with newborn transition and breastfeeding support, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams

Expected to participate in family education and communication

Must be comfortable floating to newborn nursery as needed

RTO requests are limited and coverage during Mardi Gras is expected

Holiday coverage is required per unit policy

Requirements

Active LA or compact RN license

Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU RN experience required

Must have BLS and NRP certifications

Must have experience attending deliveries (vaginal and cesarean)

Epic charting experience required

Proficiency in neonatal IV placement, blood draws, ventilator and central line management, and blood administration

Experience assisting with advanced procedures including chest tube, PICC, UAC/UVC placement, and exchange transfusions

No first-time travelers will be considered

Applicants must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility

Permanent employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year to be eligible for travel positions
