Summary The incumbent Nurse Practitioner is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of invasive – non‑invasive – consultative – and inpatient and outpatient cardiology patient care at the CGVAMC – Asheville – NC. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Cardiology Department assuring the most effective delivery of care in services within Medical Service

Duties

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Duties include but are not limited to the following: Participate as a key member of the patient care team to formulate treatment plans and monitor patient progress

Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care – procedures – methods – techniques – safety precautions and protocols in the application to patients

Collaborate with other medical center health care resources to insure continuity of care

Keep abreast of the latest trends – skills – procedures – equipment and protocols relevant to the care of patients

Other clinical duties as assigned by the supervising physician

Consultative duties

Promotes and participates in the delivery of patient and family health care education

Attends conferences and committee meetings as assigned by the supervising physician

Participates – direct and provides opportunities for staff development through in‑service education

Facilitates responses/actions to patient inquiries regarding care and treatment received

Assures self‑development responsibilities and maintains current knowledge of trends in the management of patients

Participates in clinical research programs when appropriate

- Other administrative and/or education/research duties as assigned by the supervising physician

Customer Services: Relationships with management – co‑workers – patients – and the general public are consistently courteous – respectful – and cooperative in nature. Employee will display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals – Employee will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level
