Responsibilities As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff including:
Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
Developing daily staffing plans for nursing care
Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements
Minimum Qualifications
License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State
3 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders
Substitution: Bachelor’s degree in nursing can substitute for 1 year of post‑licensure clinical nursing experience; a master’s degree in nursing can substitute for 2 years of post‑licensure clinical nursing experience
OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Nurse Administrator 1 Psychiatric or Nurse Administrator 2 Psychiatric eligible list
OR Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law
