GD Resources is seeking
experienced and qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
and
Registered Respiratory Therapists with Polysomnography credentials (RRT Polysomnographers)
to support the Medical Service – Respiratory Section at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. These professionals will provide high-quality respiratory and sleep diagnostic services in accordance with VA standards and under the direction of VA clinical leadership. Key Responsibilities
Respiratory Therapy Duties
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions Collaborate with Pulmonary, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit teams Initiate, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilation and airway support Administer inhaled medications and medical gases (e.g., oxygen, bronchodilators) Respond to Rapid Response and emergency situations Set up and manage CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP systems Educate patients and families regarding respiratory care and treatment plans Identify and elevate patient safety concerns appropriately Polysomnography Duties (RRT Polysomnographer Roles)
Perform full-night diagnostic polysomnography (PSG) studies Conduct split-night diagnostic and CPAP titration studies Monitor and record sleep stages, respiratory parameters, EEG, EOG, EMG, EKG, airflow, oxygen saturation, body position, and limb movements Perform sleep staging and scoring in accordance with established standards Maintain accurate electronic and manual patient records and technical logs Provide continuous overnight patient monitoring during sleep studies Follow all VA policies, procedures, and clinical protocols Required Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including 1 year in critical care Active California Respiratory Care Board license Current CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Three (3) professional references RRT Polysomnographer (Must also meet all RRT requirements)
Completion of an accredited Sleep Technology program Minimum 2 years of polysomnography (PSG) experience One of the following credentials required:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS)
Medical Board of California licensure (as applicable) Three (3) professional references specific to polysomnography Compliance & Additional Requirements
Successful VA credentialing and approval prior to assignment Completion of all VA-required training (Privacy, Cybersecurity, Infection Control, Fire Safety, etc.) Compliance with HIPAA, VA confidentiality requirements, and Joint Commission standards Ability to pass health screenings, immunization requirements, and drug testing Must wear VA-issued identification badge while on VA premises Why Work with GD Resources
