Position Summary
Opening Summer 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL. Orlando Health’s system of care includes award‑winning hospitals, ERs, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, primary care practices and outpatient facilities that span Florida’s east‑to‑west coasts, Central Alabama and Puerto Rico. The Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital is a state‑of‑the‑art, seven‑story, multi‑specialty hospital serving a 550‑k‑square‑foot healthcare hub with 300+ inpatient beds, 69 emergency and observation beds, 11 operating rooms, four cardiac interventional suites, and dedicated labor and delivery services including a neonatal intensive care unit. Other comprehensive services include cardiovascular, neurology, oncology, and advanced surgical procedures. Position Summary – Role
The Registered Dietitian provides evidence‑based medical nutrition therapy to patients as part of the Clinical Nutrition team.
Responsibilities
Write orders according to policy.
Counsel patients and/or significant others on nutrition principles, dietary plans, and food selections, respecting cultural, religious, and ethnic preferences.
Develop, implement, and document individualized nutritional care plans based on assessment of patient needs, nutrition status, and disease state requirements.
Demonstrate competency in assessing patients’ nutritional needs across the lifespan.
Apply evidence‑based knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for appropriate nutritional care.
Document dietary history and nutritional data in the medical record; participate in interdisciplinary rounds as required.
Adhere to Orlando Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and commitment to excellence.
Maintain punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Represent Orlando Health at community or media speaking engagements as assigned.
Participate in task forces or committees within the Clinical Nutrition Department as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Training:
Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
Licensure/Certification:
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Maintenance of licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist credential in the State of Florida.
