Nursing Home Cook
Join the dynamic care team at Athena Health Care Systems. We are hiring per diem cooks for our facility in MeadowBrook of Granby.
Pay Range $19.00/hr – $19.00/hr
Responsibilities
Follow therapeutic diets ordered by the physician.
Ensure proper serving temperature of food.
Maintain visual appeal of the food.
Monitor daily nourishments and follow standardized recipes.
Assure proper portion control.
Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure.
Other duties assigned by the manager.
Requirements
Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Proficiency in English: read, write, speak and understand.
Independent decision‑making when warranted.
Tactful interpersonal skills with residents, families, visitors, agencies and public.
Knowledge of dining service procedures and related laws, regulations and guidelines for hospital and nursing home operations.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non‑professional personnel.
Maintenance of care and use of supplies, equipment, appearance of work areas and regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and performance of assigned duties.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm and willingness to handle residents based on their maturity level.
