X-Ray Technician/MA

Base pay range:
$32.00/hr - $33.00/hr
Summary The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities
Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; record information on patient’s chart
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
Drape patient with coverings, and position instruments and equipment
Hand instruments and materials to doctor, as directed
Cleans and sterilizes instruments
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
Operates X-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests, or calls medical facility or department to schedule patient tests
Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
Inputs data into computer to maintain office and patient records
Requirements
Must have a current X-Ray Technician Limited Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal – to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso‑skeletal)
Must be Medical Assistant certified
Must have prior experience performing EKGs, blood drawing, vital signs and IM injections
Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced work environment
Must have a neat and professional appearance
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
Center‑Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood‑borne pathogens. Ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, with some bending and stooping, use manual dexterity in clinical requirements, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Travel – up to 5%
