Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

About the Role As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high‑quality outpatient psychiatric care to adult patients. This role focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team. You will play a key role in supporting patients’ mental and emotional well‑being while delivering thoughtful, evidence‑based care.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
Board certification as a PMHNP-BC
Preferred Qualifications
Prior outpatient psychiatry experience
Experience with diverse psychiatric diagnoses and medication management
Comfort working in a collaborative, team‑based clinical environment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow‑up visits
Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions
Provide medication management and ongoing treatment planning
Collaborate with therapists and clinical staff to coordinate care
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EMR
Ensure compliance with all clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards
Core Skills
Psychiatric assessment and diagnostic expertise
Medication management across common psychiatric conditions
Patient and family education and counseling
Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
Ability to work efficiently in an outpatient setting while maintaining quality of care
