Vascular Sonographer - Cardiovascular Lab

Pay Range:
$34.68/hr - $59.05/hr
Summary:
The Vascular Sonographer performs comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations, capturing high‑quality digital images that assess arterial and venous structure, flow, and overall hemodynamic function. This role ensures exceptional patient safety by adhering to established protocols, best practices, and departmental policies. The ideal candidate brings strong foundational vascular imaging skills and a commitment to continuous professional growth—actively expanding their technical expertise and advancing toward more complex procedures within the vascular specialty.
Perform vascular ultrasound examinations including carotid duplex, arterial and venous studies, ABI testing, and other related procedures.
Analyze and interpret ultrasound data to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely documentation of procedures.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients throughout the procedure.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Graduate of a two-year allied health training program, ultrasound technology or bachelor's program in health science (including cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) or graduate of an accredited program in general ultrasound (vascular) preferred.
2 or more years of experience inpatient/outpatient vascular or general ultrasound. Promoted by excellent competencies and natural progression.
New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Therapy Program (NMRTT).
Required: ARDMS (RVT) /CCI (RVS) credential.
If credential in General will need to pass registry exam for ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) within one year of hire.
Certs: BLS, NMRTT.
