Responsibilities
Provide skilled lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Promote breastfeeding and facilitate change within clinical settings using evidence‑based care.
Contact physician offices, patients, and other departments to facilitate care.
Order and restock breastfeeding/pump supplies for the unit.
Accurately input information and consult into the hospital Electronic Medical Record system.
Manage CMQCC data.
Provide education for nursing staff and facilitate educational classes for patients.
Qualifications
IBCLC required within 6 months of hire.
RN license required.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained.
NRP (AAP) within 30 days upon hire and maintained.
One to two years of previous experience preferred.
Experience with computers for data management and entry.
EPIC experience preferred.
