Cardiovascular Certified Surgical Assistant (CCSA)

Overview: We are seeking a skilled
Cardiovascular Certified Surgical Assistant (CCSA)
to join our cardiovascular surgery team. This role supports surgeons in complex heart and vascular procedures while ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced OR environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, valve procedures, aortic surgery, and vascular bypass.
Perform conduit harvesting (endoscopic or open), suturing, hemostasis, and tissue handling.
Prepare, position, and drape patients for surgery; maintain clear operative exposure.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and OR staff.
Support postoperative closure, documentation, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Certified Surgical Assistant with cardiovascular specialty (CCSA/CVCSA/CSA/RSA).
Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
Proficiency with conduit harvesting strongly preferred.
Current BLS required.
Skills:
Strong surgical technique and procedural knowledge
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to thrive in high-acuity environments
