Are you an experienced environmental permitting professional with a strong background in FERC-regulated infrastructure projects? Join this dynamic team and lead the development of environmental strategies that support critical energy and infrastructure initiatives across the U.S.
About the Role: This firm is seeking an in-house Senior Environmental Permitter to manage and execute permitting strategies for complex energy infrastructure projects, with a focus on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) processes. This role involves close coordination with regulatory agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
Lead environmental permitting efforts for FERC-regulated projects (e.g., natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, hydroelectric projects).
Prepare and manage FERC filings, including Resource Reports and Environmental Reports.
Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to secure necessary environmental approvals.
Oversee environmental impact assessments, NEPA documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Provide strategic guidance on permitting risks, timelines, and mitigation strategies.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in environmental permitting, with direct experience supporting FERC-regulated projects.
In-depth knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and other relevant environmental regulations.
Strong technical writing, project management, and client communication skills.
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and managing complex project schedules.
Ability to travel to project sites and public meetings as needed.
