Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric counseling/social services to individuals/families/groups affected by mental health or co-occurring issues.

Provide assessment and treatment services, which include individual/family/group counseling & other support services to patients with mental health issues.

Perform comprehensive psychosocial assessment for patients & maintain medical records documentation according to HMH, OMH, and/or OASAS policies and procedures.

Complete/keep up-to-date, accurate clinical records such as comprehensive evaluation/treatment plan/progress notes/reports regarding the patients’ histories, progress & services provided.

Provide patients/family members with information with mental health issues about available services/programs & make referrals when necessary.

Coordinate services with mental health professionals, other health professionals & providers.

Conduct in-reach and offsite treatment services as needed.

Participate in outreach activities as directed by the Program Director or the AED of Behavioral Health.

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited program in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Strong clinical skills in substance abuse and behavioral health treatment services.

Excellent ability to conduct behavioral/mental health diagnoses/assessments & provide culturally sensitive treatment.

In-depth knowledge of counseling theories & research methods.

Familiarity with NYS OMH policies and procedures.

New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Compensation $57,533/year or $29.50/hour

Hours 37.5 hours per week
