Job Overview This position is responsible for outreach athletic training and duties as assigned within OSU Sports Medicine, a multi-disciplinary outpatient program serving athletes and physically active people of all abilities. The Athletic Trainer will work within the scope of practice set by the Ohio Board and comply with medical center, sports medicine, and outreach policies and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Event and practice coverage for college, high school, recreational or club sports.
Preventative practice and athletic training room coverage.
Educational involvement and other coverage duties.
Provision of components of physical therapy treatment plans under supervision of a physical therapist.
Physician extender duties in clinics, coordinating patient flow and supporting physicians.
Supervise supportive clinical personnel (aides, students), participate in teaching, and assist with administrative procedures.
Minimum Education • Bachelor's Level Degree
Required Qualifications
Completion of an approved education program in athletic training and/or related health science field.
State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license.
BOC certification (Board of Certification).
Two to three years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine facility (preferred); experience working with athletic populations is required.
Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
