Overview Salary Range:
$67.98 - $88.38 per hour

Basic Functions The Dental Health Aide Therapist delivers comprehensive oral hygiene and preventive dental services to the tribal community under the Colville Tribes' 638‑operated dental program. The role includes clinical patient care, oral health education, and participation in community‑based preventive initiatives. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Dental Director (or designee) and may occasionally travel to outreach sites.
Qualifications Education and Training
Associate of Applied Science in Dental Therapy.
Licensed as a Dental Health Aide Therapist.
Experience in tribal, community, or public health preferred.
Must be licensed by a federal community health aide program certification board or a federal recognized Indian tribe that has adopted certification standards that meet or exceed the requirements of a federal community health aide program certification board.
License re‑certification every two years.
Valid Washington State driver’s license.
Current BLS – Basic Life Support certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation for professional correspondence and reports.
Human relations skills to work productively and cooperatively with other work teams, exercise patience with customers, convey technical concepts, and review performance.
Knowledge of report preparation, filing, and record keeping.
Work ethic of the highest standard.
Ability to coordinate daily tasks with appropriate follow‑through and preparedness.
Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep detailed records.
Excellent management skills, team‑oriented, coordinating and collaborating with all business partners, staff, and customer service.
Physical ability: sitting, weightlifting up to 25 pounds, bending/stooping, crouching, twisting, reaching, operation of equipment/tools, foot controls, etc.
Hand‑eye‑arm coordination for operating dental and general office equipment.
Visual acuity to read words and numbers.
Auditory ability to carry on conversations over phone and in person.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre‑employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post‑accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
