About Venice Community Housing Corporation Venice Community Housing (VCH), a community‑based, nonprofit organization, supports and builds equitable and inclusive communities by providing affordable housing with supportive services, education, employment programs, and public policy advocacy. With housing development as its core service, VCH believes that we must challenge the root causes of housing injustice and homelessness, and actively confront all forms of racism, in order to ensure equitable communities with access to healthy, safe, and affordable homes for all. VCH owns and manages 346 units of affordable, supportive housing and is in a growth phase with an additional 400 units in predevelopment/construction stages.

Job Description The Resident Services Department of VCH provides programs and services that seek to stabilize, engage, and empower residents of supportive and affordable housing and other program participants. The Resident Services team does this through various programs and services, which include intensive case management services, educational workshops, tenant engagement activities, supportive services resources and referrals, and after‑school programming.

This is a part‑time, temporary position offering 20‑25 weekly hours. The role requires weekly flexibility and will continue through May 1, 2026.

Essential Functions

Conduct intake and enrollment activities with eligible clients, including assisting clients with gathering program eligibility documentation, completing project intake forms, authorizations, and enrolling into Intensive Case Management Services.

Assist at all levels of move‑in to permanent housing, helping clients become document ready, handling applications and paperwork, and coordinating move‑in and orientation.

Perform initial comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments with quarterly updates.

Collaborate with tenants to create a client‑driven, person‑centered Individual Service Plan (ISP) addressing short‑term and long‑term goals, reviewed and completed every quarter.

Provide field‑based Intensive Case Management services in independent living skills, housing stabilization, money management, community integration, employment, benefits establishment, and linkage to community providers for substance use, primary and mental health care, and other needed services.

Use evidence‑based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Housing First skills.

Mediate and advocate on behalf of the tenant to help them obtain and keep housing, health‑care benefits, entitlements, transportation, and related services.

Maintain up‑to‑date tenant files including case notes, consents, ISPs, homeless/disability verifications, and general documentation.

Qualifications

One to two years of experience in case management or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field, or equivalent work/lived experience, preferred.

One to two years of experience working with homeless individuals with substance abuse, mental health issues, and/or chronic health conditions.

Spanish‑English bilingual preferred, but not required.

Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including trauma‑informed interactions.

Experience and knowledge of the Westside community and social services a plus.

Valid California Driver License and proof of insurance, or alternative transportation to facilitate movement between sites.

Ability to communicate through print: emails and letters.

Ability to work independently.

Salary and Benefits The pay rate is $24.04/hr to $26.44/hr. Benefits include vacation and sick time, paid holidays, and 2 personal days.

Physical Requirements Stationary position 40% of the time. Operate a computer and office equipment. Occasionally ascend/descend stairs, move inside and outside the office, apartments, buildings. Frequently move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires visual acuity to perform tasks such as operating a motor vehicle, reading, writing, and conducting unit inspections.
