Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions Of The Role
Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
Collaborate with colleagues and the community to develop care plans. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
Use different problem‑solving strategies with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning.
Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers’ development and community service.
Key Success Factors
Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area; understanding hospital procedures and rules.
Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
Strong problem‑solving capabilities to drive effective critical thinking.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Specialized field of study should be nursing
Registered Nurse license
Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting this role
