This Is What You’ll Do

Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain the highest production standards.

Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values.

Maintain cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment.

Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.

Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.

Label each unit and sample accurately.

Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to machine alarms and alerts, handle donor adverse events, document exceptions, and perform routine QCs.

Monitor donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality.

Disconnect donor and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment, cleaning any spills and following proper disposition protocols.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines and replace equipment from service as needed.

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including plasmapheresis machine logs.

Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management.

Stock adequate inventory and replenish supplies on plasma carts.

Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.

Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

This Is What It Takes

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Any specific certification or licensing based on state requirements.

Minimum three months’ experience in a medical or health care environment, or equivalent education and experience.

Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to performing duties independently.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol.

Basic computer knowledge and skills.

Accurate and complete documentation.

Read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort, flexibility).

Availability to work daytime, evening, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Ability to perform venipuncture.

Effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 35 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.

Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Ability to view a video display terminal

Work in an environment with temperature up to -40°C according to SOPs.

Perform precise tasks that require repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests.

Use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
