Job Description
Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluating new equipment and procedures.
Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing initial and refresher training for proper handling and disposal.
Answers the telephone and performs clerical and receptionist duties to support department operations.
Performs post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical and support information for all age groups.
Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education for clinical staff as appropriate or requested.
Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration.
Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and competency standards.
Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations as well as hospital policies.

Associate (Required) Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTAAB) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTAMT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLTASCP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pay Range $20.60 - $38.31
