Staff – Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma – $46 per hour Cook Children’s Health Care System is looking for a staff Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma in Prosper, TX.

Job Summary The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach oversees all components of the Trauma Registry operations, including identifying cases, data abstraction, data collection, data entry, data retrieval, data quality, data analysis, and system maintenance of the registry. The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach assists with the annual report, conducts a variety of data analyses and reports, and coordinates and prepares for surveys by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach is an individual contributor and a subject matter expert in state, regional, and national regulatory agencies providing required data to ensure the accreditation of the hospital’s trauma designation.

Responsibilities

Oversee all components of the Trauma Registry operations, including identifying cases, data abstraction, data collection, data entry and data retrieval.

Maintain data quality, integrity, analysis, display, and statistical conversion, generate reports, and perform system maintenance of the registry.

Assist with the annual report, conduct data analyses and reports, and coordinate surveys by DSHS and ACS.

Collaborate with Trauma Program leadership to develop and assure the quality and accuracy of the trauma registry database.

Qualifications

2+ years of nursing experience working in a surgical, critical, or emergency care setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and various software applications.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

Current RN license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC/ENPC certifications.

AAAM Abbreviated Injury Scale Course (within 12 months).

Certified Specialist in Trauma Registrar (CSTR) or Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) (within 18 months).

ICD10 Coding Certificate, Trauma Data Registry Course (within 12 months).

Medical Center – Prosper

Trauma Department

Varying shifts (8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week, ongoing, ASAP).
