About the Role TerraMax is a leading agricultural‑biotech company dedicated to creating innovative biological inoculants that benefit producers, consumers, and the environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated Agronomist / Field Trial Manager to lead the design, execution, and analysis of field trials across key row crops, including soybeans, corn, peanuts, alfalfa, cotton, and wheat. This role is essential for evaluating the performance of our agricultural inoculants and supporting product development through robust, well‑executed research.

You will work independently day‑to‑day while collaborating closely with a supportive, open, and innovative team. The position requires regular on‑site presence in Eagan, Minnesota, along with seasonal field travel, to observe trial performance across the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities Field Trial Execution & Management

Design field trials and ensure protocols are followed across multiple Midwest and Southern locations.

Conduct field sampling, collect measurements, and ensure high‑quality data capture.

Regularly monitor trial progress and communicate findings to the team.

Travel during key seasonal windows to assess trial results and meet with cooperating growers.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Compile and analyze agronomic data in Agmatix or other statistical analysis software programs.

Prepare clear, data‑driven reports summarizing trial outcomes and insights.

Present findings to internal teams to support product development, refinement, and strategy.

Collaborate with leadership members and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to develop trial protocols, plot plans, and site layouts appropriate for microbial inoculant field testing.

Work independently while maintaining strong communication with research, product, and operations teams.

Contribute to a positive, communicative, and innovative workplace culture.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related field.

3–7 years of experience in field research, agronomy, or trial management.

Proficiency with Agmatix or similar agronomic data platforms.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn field data into actionable insights.

Ability to commute regularly to Eagan, MN.

Willingness to travel seasonally across the Midwest.

Ability to lift 40‑50 lbs.

Preferred

Experience with multi‑state field trial coordination.

Strong understanding of row crops: soybeans, corn, peanuts, alfalfa, cotton, and wheat.

No Machinery Experience Required

Role does

not

require operation of plot planters, sprayers, harvesters, UAVs, or other machinery.

Primarily field‑based during planting and growing seasons; office‑based analysis periods.
