About the Position:
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a qualified Med/Surg RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rockford, IL. You will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units with support from a dedicated clinical team.
Summary:
The Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, high‑quality care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, patient‑centered care with a commitment to professional ethics.
Required Qualifications:
One year of recent Med Surg/Tele RN experience
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
NIHSS certification
ACLS (AHA / ARC) certification
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions:
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
Conduct comprehensive assessments, document changes, and report concerns to the care team
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor responses
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgeries
Document patient information, vital signs, medications, treatments, and outcomes in the medical record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and needs
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use
Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan
Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with patients, families, and external resources for a smooth transition
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
English proficiency for reading, writing, and verbal communication
PC literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal skills to work with diverse personnel in a professional manner
Technical/Motor skills for fine manipulation and assistance with procedures
Mental resilience to manage frequent contact with patients and tight deadlines
Sensory acuity and effective communication skills
