Job Summary Assumes responsibility for providing patient care in accordance with established standards of professional nursing care.
Essential Responsibilities
Uses surgical skills as a first line direct patient care treatment team.
Assumes the surgical treatment team leader when assigned, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
Applies principles of growth and development to assess each surgical patient’s age‑specific treatment and care.
Minimum Education Requirements
Associate’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited nursing program required.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, certificate and/or advanced specialized or technical training.
Minimum Years of Experience Required Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room RN experience. Prior ambulatory surgical experience is strongly preferred.
Required License, Registry or Certification
Graduate of an accredited NLN program.
ACLS preferred.
AORN Certification preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills and/Or Abilities Required
Leadership, strong surgical skills and high motivation.
Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
Shows initiative and possesses strong problem‑solving skills.
Ability to use special surgical equipment.
