Description Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Master's degree or active pursuit within six months of assuming position required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
BLSHCP
Certification within area of specialty preferred
Minimum 5-7 years combined clinical and management experience in nursing
Solid understanding of TQM, organizational vision and values
Strong interpersonal, communication and budget/financial management skills
POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Director is responsible for providing administrative support and direction to operational and clinical functions.
The Director ensures the delivery of quality, cost-effective care that meets medical standards of practice and that complies with all regulatory requirements. Through effective collaboration with hospital staff, outpatient behavioral health program leaders, and physicians and the application of TQM principles, the Clinical Director supports quality improvement efforts and standardization across departments and divisions. This position participates in the long‑term planning process and supports the organization’s strategic direction through effective service line administration. The Director recommends and implements service line and health system policy and practices concerning legislation, regulatory requirements, changing business environments and community needs.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation. This position will be the acting Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health outpatient programs, methadone clinics, and the residential substance use facility.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Master’s degree required or active pursuit within six months of assuming position.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. BLSHCP required. Certified Prevention Intervention annual education preferred. The Certification within area of specialty preferred. NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered for Clinical Director in Oncology.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5-7 years combined clinical and management experience in nursing required. Solid understanding of TQM, organizational vision and values; strong interpersonal, communication and budget/financial management skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. This position requires sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day with frequent walking and standing. Some departments require the ability to distinguish colors.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
