Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the MICU at Community Medical Center. Community Medical Center is a 592‑bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering world‑class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care. Founded in 1961, CMC has evolved into the state’s newest teaching hospital with four residency programs and Ocean County’s largest and most active health‑care facility — caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients and 73,700 emergency department patients each year.
Qualifications – Required
ASN or Nursing Diploma
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
Certifications and Licenses Required
BLS certification
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Preferred
BSN or expected completion within 5 years upon hire
Essential Functions
Play a key role in providing patient care under the supervision of doctors
Perform head‑to‑toe physical examinations, administer medication and provide wound care
Communicate with families to provide updates on patient condition and assist with medical decisions
React quickly to emergency situations and demonstrate flexibility in life‑or‑death situations
Be prepared for overtime or irregular shifts
Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and uphold ANA code of ethics
Maintain awareness of ethical standards and evidence‑based practice, continuously advancing professional knowledge
Report safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors
Understand patient population served and manage delegation of tasks to team members
Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement
Lead interdisciplinary team, integrate nursing process to individualize patient care plans
