About the Position Licensed Practical Nurse III, a specialist‑level nurse in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Full‑time, regular employment with 12‑hour shifts (6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). Salary $64,480 ($31.00 per hour) with $1.44 per hour shift differential for evenings and nights.
Responsibilities
Perform nursing procedures or specialized functions in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure.
Participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions.
Teach basic nursing skills and related principles. Delegate nursing care tasks such as: taking temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, giving enemas, douches, and sitz baths, collecting specimens, and measuring intake and output.
Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients, families, and groups in a variety of settings.
Participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
Administer medications as ordered.
Report appropriate patient information to supervisor or appropriate health team member.
Serve as Charge Nurse on a unit, supervising staff performing medication administration and patient care.
Qualifications
Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a Licensed Practical Nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or a Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact plus two years of practical nursing experience.

Paid Time Off – Annual leave:
1–5 years – 15 days a year. 5–10 years – 18 days a year. 10–20 years – 20 days a year. 20+ years – 25 days a year.
Paid Time Off – Sick leave:
15 days a year.
Maximum accruals and payouts:
0–5 years: Max accruals 360 hours, Max payout 240 hours. 5–10 years: Max accruals 784 hours, Max payout 640 hours. 10–20 years: Max accruals 800 hours, Max payout 640 hours. 20+ years: Max accruals 840 hours, Max payout 640 hours.
Holiday leave:
11 holidays accrued yearly to use within 6 months after accrual date.
Admin Weather leave:
Up to 8 hours per day or 32 hours total of admin leave if working during inclement weather to use within 6 months from the date of accrual.
Military Leave:
30 days (240 hours) of pay within a federal fiscal year. Must furnish military orders.
