About the Role Visionix USA is seeking a Depot Repair Technician to join our growing technical operations team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll work with sophisticated ophthalmic equipment—including high-resolution OCT imaging systems and other diagnostic instruments—used daily by eye‑care professionals.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and validating devices to ensure they perform to manufacturer specifications and ISO‑compliant quality standards. Your expertise will directly support our customers’ ability to deliver accurate and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electronic, optical, and software components on OCT devices and other ophthalmic instruments (Visionix, Optovue, etc.).
Perform calibrations, alignments, and functional validation to ensure imaging accuracy.
Complete work orders and technical documentation within 24 hours.
Collaborate with R&D and service teams to resolve operational and installation issues.
Maintain inventory, SOPs, and a regulatory‑compliant workspace.
Participate in cross‑training on Visionix OCT devices (VX series), Optovue OCT and imaging systems, and other expanding medical device products.
Opportunity to grow technical expertise in ophthalmic imaging technology and cutting‑edge vision care systems.
Work with other expanding products, including Nexy, WAM‑5500, and additional Visionix brand devices.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience: 2 years STEM college coursework or 3+ years experience repairing ophthalmic or medical imaging devices, ideally OCT, fundus cameras, or similar equipment.
Strong mechanical, optical, and electronic troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of PC systems, motor control, and software troubleshooting; Microsoft Office & SAP preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in ESD‑protected areas, and handle fine optical/electronic components.
Technical Skills
Troubleshooting mechanical, electronics, and software issues.
Knowledge of PC components and motor control systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office; SAP preferred.
Ability to perform data transfers with legacy and new devices.
Soft Skills
Strong problem‑solving and technical communication skills.
Ability to follow procedures accurately.
Team collaboration and continuous improvement mindset.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, and use fine hand dexterity.
Work in ESD‑protected, climate‑controlled assembly environment.
Availability to work on Saturdays as needed.
