Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pre-Trial Case Management is a valuable resource for making a significant improvement in our criminal justice system. Pre-Trial case management is provided in the early stages of the criminal case process. Pre-Trial case management allows defendants to be released to the community prior to their sentence so they may continue to work, receive services to help change behavior and it also helps lower the number of inmates in the Lancaster County Jail.

This is human service work in a community corrections program utilizing a variety of fundamental rehabilitation and support modalities to assist clients. Under general supervision, performs professional case management work in support of Pretrial Services. Work includes managing a caseload of adult defendants charged with felonies and/or misdemeanors who have been released from jail on bond during the duration of their court case and monitoring the defendant’s compliance with specific conditions of their release ordered by the courts. The case manager is responsible for interviewing new defendants released on bond, preparing a supervision plan, maintaining regular contact with defendants to include possible daily checks‑ins and regular attendance at all court hearings as well as compliance with their supervision plan. The case manager will also respond to defendant violations of court’s orders and initiate action to ensure the participant’s compliance, which may include the possibility of the bond being revoked.

Qualifications Graduation from high school supplemented by completion of an associate’s degree program in human services or related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Necessary Special Requirement Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is required in the performance of assigned duties.
