Responsibilities

Adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient populations with support and mentoring by other team members.

Collect and document assessment data.

Develop a Plan of Care (POC) per standard and implement it including medical orders and interdisciplinary approach.

Evaluate the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes. Provide effective patient/family education and discharge planning.

Administer medication per standard including drug information to patients/families. Act as a resource/support for others.

Deliver patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.

Delegate care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description and individual level of education and training.

Contribute to a positive work environment that is conducive to clinical education while serving as a resource for student nurses and staff.

Perform any other duties assigned.

Qualifications Required

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associate’s Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing.

Valid RN License.

1 year of Registered Nursing experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Basic computer skills.

Strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred

BSN or MSN.

2 or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital.

1 year or more of Oncology RN experience.

National Certification.

Physical Requirements

Frequent Physical Activity: Stand, Walk, Talk, Use hands to touch, handle or feel.

Occasional Physical Activity: Sit, Bend, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop, reach overhead, Taste or Smell.

Lift/Carry Weight: 100 lbs. or more.

Push/Pull Weight: 100 lbs. or more.

Physical Environment: Inside Medical Facility Environment.

Noise Level: Moderate.

Visual Requirements: Near Visual Acuity, Far Visual Acuity, Color Discrimination, Depth Perception.

Hazards: Biological, Chemical, Sharp Objects/Tools, Dust, Fumes/Gases/Odors.

Salary Commensurate with education and experience.
