Job Summary Established in 1980, Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, Inc. (GLFHC) is a multi‑site, mission‑driven, non‑profit organization employing over 700 staff. GLFHC focuses on providing high‑quality patient care to a culturally diverse population throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites in Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program. GLFHC is currently seeking an RN, Charge Nurse to provide day‑to‑day leadership of nursing staff, deliver nursing and health care services to clinicians and patients, and demonstrate strong nursing knowledge, sound judgment, and assertive decision making. Responsibilities include performing nursing visits, assessments, evaluations, and patient education.
Responsibilities
Must be able to don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Provide day‑to‑day leadership to nursing staff.
Safely administer and accurately document immunizations and medications.
Review lab results and determine next steps for care.
Triage walk‑in patients and patients over the phone.
Provide patient education on medication, asthma, and healthy eating.
Provide wound care treatment.
Perform mental exams (SLUMS, RUDAS, MOCA).
Perform purified protein derivative (PPD) testing.
Insert intravenous therapy (IV).
Conduct functional assessments.
Conduct vision screenings.
Maintain quality control of vaccine fridges, crash cart, and oxygen machines.
Oversee ordering and inventory of medication and vaccines.
Follow OSHA standards, identify potential safety hazards, and take action to remedy these situations.
Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Three to five years of nursing experience.
Current MA RN license.
Current BLS certification.
