Position Overview The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for providing diagnostic medical sonography services in various clinical specialties. Additional responsibilities include maintaining proficiency with echo/ultrasound equipment, communicating with other members of the interprofessional care team, completing daily clerical tasks, providing on‑call coverage as scheduled, and serving as an ambassador for the department and Center by demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic medical sonography services in various clinical specialties.
Maintain proficiency with echo/ultrasound equipment.
Communicate with other members of the interprofessional care team.
Complete additional clerical tasks.
Credentials and Qualifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
RSCS/RCS certification.
Successful completion of an Echocardiography/cardiovascular education program.
Experience with transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, bubble studies, and administering contrast‑enhancing agents.
