Youth Independent Living Evening Support Specialist, PT Evening Support Specialist – YouthQuest is a family‑owned agency serving mental, behavioral, and foster care needs in Virginia. The primary schedule is late evenings and weekends. This role provides a positive role model for residents, assists with life skills learning, transportation, and administrative duties, and contributes to the formulation and implementation of the resident transitional living plan.

Responsibilities

Use interpersonal communication to gain resident cooperation and resolve conflicts; maintain appropriate relationships that do not disclose personal information.

Provide transportation, accompany, and directly supervise residents on outings, activities, and appointments in the community.

Guide residents in personal hygiene techniques and proper care of their condominiums; assist with meal preparation steps; instruct in proper housekeeping, laundry procedures, and review weekly chores.

Exercise fair, firm, and consistent use of the behavioral system.

Supervise medication administration as appropriate.

Check each condominium to ensure residents are in by curfew, working, or on an approved pass; document all incidences in the communication log and contact the Life Skills Coach or Program Supervisor; record accurate and complete information in the resident chart regarding behavior, critical incidents, AWOLs, restrictions, unusual sleep patterns, etc.

Education and Experience

Human services bachelor’s degree (Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, etc.) OR a high school diploma with at least one year of experience working with children and/or families.
