About Trinity Health Livingston Med/Surg:

We’re currently seeking compassionate, reliable Med/Surg nurses to join our 25-bed unit at a small community hospital. Our team provides care for a wide variety of adult patients with medical and postoperative needs, offering a strong foundation in clinical skills, time management, and teamwork. Whether you’re early in your nursing career or looking to return to the fundamentals of bedside care, this unit offers a solid, well‑rounded experience. We pride ourselves on a tight‑knit, supportive environment. What you will do

Gather and analyze patient information

Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized care plans

Use teach‑back methodology to educate patients and families

Actively seek to prevent potential hospital‑acquired conditions

Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals, and interventions during consultations, rounds, and handoffs

Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures

Behave in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals

Shifts Available:

Contingent Day and Contingent Nights – with weekend and holiday rotations

Required Qualifications Education:

Graduation from an accredited nursing school that allows the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become a licensed registered nurse. BSN preferred.

Licensure:

Current State of Michigan RN license and BLS. ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, and Emergency departments.

Experience:

Experienced Canadian registered nurses are encouraged to apply.

Graduation from an accredited nursing program

Effective January 1, 2013: all new hires must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from the date of hire or transfer to an RN role.

Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age‑specific needs

Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families

Critical thinking skills necessary to perform the principal duties and responsibilities of the job

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
