When you join the growing BILH team, you’re not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This is a full‑time day/evening position. Hours will be Mon‑Thurs 10:30am‑7pm, Friday 8:30am‑5pm.

Job Description Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by welcoming and registering patients efficiently and empathetically. The position may be the first face of the organization when a patient visits, impacting patient safety and clinical care by ensuring correct identifiers and accurate insurance information and co‑pays.

Responsibilities

Register patients presenting for visits; explain registration process and respond to patient questions.

Process patient co‑payments, co‑insurance, deductibles and balances due; safeguard cash, checks and receipts; reconcile cash drawer at end of each business day; assist patients with kiosk check‑in as needed.

Complete the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust patient coverage based on results.

Obtain signatures on consent, financial and other required documents; distribute, scan, process and record receipt of all documents collected during registration encounter.

Counsel patients regarding non‑covered services; obtain signatures on ABNs, consents and waivers.

Monitor patient waiting area for smooth registration flow; advise patients of potential delays to ensure pleasant experience.

Complete registrations on inpatient units missing original information.

Respond to patient concerns and potential safety issues; recognize health conditions that pose risk to others and follow established procedures.

Maintain neat, orderly registration desk and patient waiting area; secure confidential patient information.

Initiate patient scheduling activities prioritizing patient phone calls, digital messages, orders, scheduling queues and MyChart.

Schedule, reschedule and cancel patient appointments using various sources; maintain updated scheduling protocols.

Establish working relationship with clinical departments and apply unique scheduling protocols; seek management assistance when needed.

Ensure all key scheduling and registration information is captured and verified (referring physician, insurance, demographics).

Identify and communicate issues that may impact timeliness and accuracy of appointments to Patient Access management.

Follow confidentiality and equipment security guidelines when working remotely; maintain productivity, quality and accuracy; communicate with Supervisor and Manager.

Efficiently register patients, capturing and verifying all required information to identify patient, contact them, and receive proper reimbursement.

Ascertain, create and assign guarantor for each patient; verify coverage using real‑time eligibility;

Apply appropriate guarantor and insurance to each visit; communicate financial clearance status to patients; schedule financial counseling as needed.

Education & Minimum Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent.

Experience

Prior experience in a business setting providing customer service while processing and verifying electronic demographic, financial or other business‑related information and data.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Able to work successfully in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment requiring independent decision making.

Proficient in processing electronic information and data accurately and efficiently.

Pay Range $20.50 - $27.59 per hour.

Location Danvers, MA.
